Caked on

This cake was a winner at my nephews 6th Birthday. It was again a chocolate cake and had choc frosting then the decorative butter icing. The hand was royal icing and the net was a toffee net- unfortunately in the heat it melted slightly.

These characters always end up under the knife in some way of another…

I made this cake for my Dads 55th Birthday… a bit impromptu but turned out pretty well. Its a replica of a norton cafe racer which was my dads baby until he sold it last year. Its a classic bike so was fitting to made a classic choc cake- a people pleaser.  It is a mixture of butter icing ( the yellow) choc frosting ( black and brown) and the silver is royal icing.

I made this beautiful cake for a friends daughters second birthday. It was a delight to make and very exciting too!

It was a layer banana cake with chocolate frosting in between each layer and under the pink royal icing.  As you can see it had a centre piece of three gerberras and edible roses and butterflies too. Yes thats right, the cake and i match. Purely out of coincidence….

Little Tori claimed the cake when she took to it with the knife in a way that only a two year old could

Morning all,

I have just launched my cake making business- “Caked on” so I thought i would share my excitement and create a blog too!  Here are some of my cakes made in 2009. The first is a tinker bell cake which I made for a friends child’s first birthday party.

As you can see in the second photo of the cake, my sister ( extra pair of hands) and me the cake was huge!

The second is a pirate ship made for a friends 21st pirate party which i will have more photos of soon. To give you some perspective the cake weighed 15.2 kg – heavier than our labraspoodle!

The third was an Avatar cake which my friend asked me to make for her friends surprise 21st the day of the party! so it was somewhat rushed

I have made various other cakes and some photos will be up sooon!
